Rich in natural resources and cultural heritage, Mongolia is in a unique position to unleash its potential for development.
With the rise of globalization and increasing
competition between nations, Mongolia needs a new
generation of leaders with vision in order to make a difference:
not only within the borders of their own country
but also in the world. After decades of communism
and a state controlled economy, Mongolia is striving to
integrate itself into the global economy. As Mongolia
begins to open up to the rest of the world, the country
needs a new paradigm of change in its educational sector
in order to play a major role in reforming all sectors
of the economy and the society in general.
With a vision to prepare global citizens, the Global
Leadership University has emerged as a premier institution of higher learning in Mongolia. Today’s world
requires graduates to be not only academically successful
but also socially competent in a multicultural work
environment. GLU believes that leadership is essential in
driving societal change and that integrating leadership
principles with an academic curriculum is critical for developing
graduates who are capable of taking responsibility
and leading positive change in society. Leadershipcentered
education is the core concept of learning at
GLU and a variety of leadership and self-development
courses are integrated into the regular business education
curriculum.
GLU offers undergraduate programs in banking, finance
and accounting which are fully accredited by the Ministry
of Education of Mongolia and all courses are conducted in English and taught by internationally recognized
faculty members. A dual degree program at GLU provides an opportunity for Mongolian and international students to complete first two years of their studies in Mongolia with an option to transfer to GLU’s partner colleges and universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Republic of Korea and China. This international experience helps our students to become exposed to different environments and challenges them to reach the next level of maturity.
The launch of the Global Leadership Institute (GLI) in 2008 allows the university to offer executive courses, seminars, lectures in organizational effectiveness, management
and leadership. GLI has performed corporate training; utilizing best-selling books such as Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey, One Minute Manager by Ben Blanchard, and Good to Great by Bill Collins. GLI also works in areas of research and development, business consulting and public relations. A recent television program, “Global CEO,” appealed to thousands of business leaders and entrepreneurs and as a result, GLU has become a sought-after institution for providing executive training, market research and development
services in both the private and public sectors in Mongolia.
Building on its strengths, GLU strives to become a research intensive institution of higher learning providing
a world class education in Mongolia with a strong culture of quality and leadership. Our university will act as a think tank for Mongolia, bringing knowledge and technological advancements into society, while at the same time developing the future leaders of Mongolia and the world.
